SEO and digital marketing for Houston, TX businesses
SEO that gets Houston small businesses found
Bayou City SEO takes responsibility for how your business shows up in search. Technical SEO, on-page fixes, keyword and content strategy, local search — and a monthly report you can actually read. You don’t need anyone in-house.
What we do for you
One job, done properly: make your business easier for search engines to understand, and easier for customers to find. No retainer padded with busywork.
Technical SEO
Crawling and indexing, HTTPS, redirect chains, canonical tags, sitemaps, site speed and the errors that quietly keep your pages out of Google.
On-page fixes
Titles, descriptions, headings, internal links and image alt text — the work that decides whether a page can rank for anything at all.
Keyword and content strategy
The searches your customers actually type, which of them are worth chasing, and the pages that need to exist (or be rewritten) to win them.
Local search
Showing up for "near me" and city searches: your Google Business Profile, location and service pages, consistent business details across the web.
Monthly reporting in plain English
What we changed, what it did, what we're doing next — in sentences you can read and check, not a dashboard of numbers nobody opens.
Who this is for
A good fit
- Small and mid-sized businesses in Houston, TX that sell to local customers.
- The owner, or whoever runs the business, is the person we deal with — no committee, no procurement.
- You know your site should be doing better in search, and there is nobody in-house whose job it is.
- You want to be told what is wrong and what it costs, in language you can check.
Not the right fit
- Marketing agencies looking for a white-label audit tool — we do the work ourselves, we don't resell this.
- Businesses with a full in-house marketing team: you'd be paying us for work somebody is already doing.
- Anyone wanting a guaranteed position in Google. Nobody can promise that honestly.
How we work
Four steps, in this order. The audit comes first because a quote without one is a guess.
1. We audit the site first
Before we quote you anything, we look at what's actually there: the HTML, the headers, robots.txt, the sitemap and the links. The free audit above is the same read.
2. You get the findings, prioritised
A scored report with the highest-impact problems at the top, each one explained, with the exact fix. Nothing is padded out to sound like more work than it is.
3. We work on what moves the needle
Each month we fix and build in order of impact — technical faults and on-page problems first, then content and local search once the foundations hold.
4. You get a monthly report you can act on
What was done, what we measured, and what's next. If something didn't work, we say so — you're paying for the truth, not for reassurance.
Why us
The people you talk to do the work
There is no account manager relaying messages and no handing your site to a junior once the contract is signed. The person who audits your site is the person who fixes it.
We quote from evidence, not guesses
The free audit is the same read we do before quoting. You see the findings, the fixes and the measurements behind them before you commit to anything.
No jargon, and no pretending
Plain English, and a clean "could not determine" where we genuinely can't measure something. An SEO report that guesses is worse than none.
What the free audit looks at
Around 30 checks across four weighted categories — On-page, Technical, Content and Performance — scored out of 100 with the problems ranked by impact. It reads the page the server sends, plus its headers, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and a capped sample of internal links. No API keys, no browser tricks: we fetch the page the way a crawler does.
On-page basics
- Title and meta description — present, unique, the right length
- One clear H1 with a clean heading outline
- Images missing alt text, counted and listed
- Mobile viewport tag and page language
Indexability and crawling
- HTTP status, redirect chain and HTTPS
- noindex traps in the HTML or the response headers
- Whether robots.txt blocks the page
- Sitemap found, declared and readable
- Canonical tag present and pointing at the right URL
Content and local signals
- Word count when a page is too thin to rank
- Internal and external link counts, checked for 404s
- Structured data (JSON-LD) present and parseable
- Text-to-code ratio and HTML weight
Speed signals we can measure
- Server response time (TTFB), as we measured it
- Render-blocking stylesheets and scripts in the head
- Assets loaded from other domains
- Honest labels on everything we could not determine
Straight talk about where we are
Bayou City SEO is a new agency. We have no client logos to show you, no testimonials to quote and no “trusted by hundreds of businesses” badge — we would have to invent them, and an agency that invents its proof will invent its results too.
What we do have is the audit above: a real, free, specific read of your site that you can check line by line before you decide anything. That is the honest version of a sales pitch, and it is also the most useful thing we can put in front of you today.
So start there. If the findings look serious and you want them fixed, ask us to look at your site and we’ll tell you what we would do first.
Ask us to look at your site
Send us a few details and we’ll come back to you. Tell us the website and what is bothering you about it — the more specific, the more useful our answer.
